How to make Mushroom Pulav . Simple Mushroom Biryani Recipe

  • 150 grms Mushrooms
  • 2 cups Basmathi Rice
  • 1 pcs Onions
  • 1/2 cup Capsicum
  • 1/2 cup Carrot
  • 2 pcs Green Chillies
  • 1/2 cup Green Peas
  • 2 pcs Tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 tsp Chilli Powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 tsp Coriander Seeds Powder
  • 2 pcs Bay Leaves
  • 3 pcs Cinnamon Sticks
  • 1/2 tsp Shahjeera
  • 3-4 pcs Cloves
Recipe Notes


Any vegetables of your choice could be used
Wash and soak rice for 1/2 hour
Heat 2 tablespoons clarified butter (ghee) in pan
Oil also could be used instead
Add whole garam masala first
Fry for a minute
Add diced onion and fry
Add 3 diced green chillies and fry till onions turn transparent
Add carrot pieces and mix
Add capsicum pieces, green peas and fry for a minute
Close lid and cook
Any other vegetables like beans could also be used
Add tomatoes and and cook till tomatoes become soft
Add 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste and mix
Fry a minute and add mushroom pieces and mix
Close lid and cook for 2 more minutes
Add 1 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder, 1 teaspoon coriander seeds powder and mix
Add cumin seeds powder and mix
Add soaked basmathi rice and stir carefully
Add 4 cups water for 2 cups rice
Mix and add coriander leaves
Mint leaves also could be added
Close lid and cook on high flame for 5-6 minutes
Stir and close lid
Cook till the rice cooks completely
Close lid and cook on low flame for 5 minutes
Cut off the stove and open lid after 5-6 minutes
Serve hot!
