  • 1/2 kg Ridge Gourd
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Coriander Seeds
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 2 tbsp Sesame Seeds
  • 7-8 pc Dried Chillies
  • 2 tbsp Coconut Powder
  • 5-6 Garlic Cloves
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Coriander Leaves

Beerakaya Ulli Karam Vepudu Preparation | Ridge Gourd Fry

Let’s see how to make tasty ridge gourd fry
Peel and dice the ridge gourd
Let’s prepare the masala first
Heat pan and fry 1 1/2 tablespoon coriander seeds
Add 1 teaspoon cumin seeds and fry for a minute
Add 2 tablespoons sesame seeds and fry
Then add 7-8 dried chillies and fry till they change colour
Add 2 tablespoons coconut powder and fry
Then add 5-6 garlic cloves and cut off the stove
Let all the ingredients cool down
Heat 2 tablespoons oil in pan
Add diced ridge gourd and fry
Onions could be added and fried first if desired
Fry till the onions turn brown and then add ridge gourd
Close lid and cook for 10 minutes on low flame
Stir and cook
In the mean time, let’s powder the fried mixture
Add all the ingredients to a mixie jar and powder them
To the ridge gourd, add 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon salt or salt to taste and mix
Now add the prepared powder and mix
If more spiciness is desired, add more chilli powder and cook
Stir and cook for 5 minutes
Sprinkle coriander leaves and mix
Serve hot with rice or roti
