Rava Chegodilu | Murukulu
Rava Chegodilu also known as Murukulu is crunchy snack from south India. A small shaped round rings, kid's love it and even elders relish it. This hot crunchy snack prepared during festivals and can beserved as Tea time Snack.
- 4 Cups Upma Rava (Semolina)
 - 1 Cup Green Gram
 - 2 Tsp Red chili Powder
 - 2 Tsp Salt
 - 1 Tsp Cumin Seeds
 - 4 Tsp Sesame Seeds
 - 1/2 Tsp Carom Seeds
 - 6 Cups Water
 - Oil For deep frying

Prior we get into the recipe will soak the green gram for 15 Minutes.
 - 
										
In a mixing bowl will take 1 kg (4 cups) of Semolina.
 - 
										
Add 2 teaspoons of chili powder.
 - 
										
Now lets add 2 teaspoons of salt as needed.
 - 
										
Then add 1 teaspoon of Cumin Seeds.
 - 
										
And then add 4 teaspoons of Sesame seeds.
 - 
										
Now add ½ teaspoon of carom seeds and mix them all.
 - 
										
In a pan add 6 cups of water and bring it to a boil.
 - 
										
Lower the flame and add the soaked green gram.
 - 
										
Now add ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder, I am adding it here as I forgot to add it to the semolina mixture.
 - 
										
Now add semolina mixture slowly stirring constantly without lumps.
 - 
										
Then place a lid and cook it on low flame for 5 to 6 minutes.
 - 
										
Put off the stove now.
 - 
										
Take a pan with oil for deep fry the Chegodilu / rings.
 - 
										
Mould them like a small rings on a tray or on a lid.
 - 
										
Will now deep fry a few on medium flame for a minute.
 - 
										
Flip and turn them and fry till golden brown.
 - 
										
We can see crunchy round rings, crispy and hallow.
 - 
										
We can store them in an air tight containers for about 1 month.
 - 
										
Rava Chegodilu / Murukulu is ready to eat as a snack during tea and coffee time
